Marc Anthony returns to stages the world over with his new tour, Legacy. The six-time Grammy and Latin Grammy Award winner, actor and philanthropist will perform in San Antonio on Friday, November 9th at 8:00 p.m.
Marc Anthony is best known for his prolific singing, acting, and producing career. Anthony is the top selling tropical salsa artist of all time and has received two Grammy Awards, five Latin Grammy Awards, and has sold over 12 million albums worldwide. He is best known for his Latin salsa numbers and ballads. Anthony holds the Guinness World Record for best-selling tropical/salsa artist and the most number-one albums on the Billboard Tropical Albums year-end charts.
Anthony played several supporting roles in projects throughout the 1990s. He appeared in Paul Simon's 1998 stage musical, The Capeman, which ran for 68 performances. He had a role in Martin Scorsese's 1999 drama Bringing Out the Dead and 2001’s In the Time of the Butterflies. In Man On Fire (2004), Anthony appeared opposite Denzel Washington as a wealthy businessman who hires a former U.S. Marine to protect his daughter from kidnappers in Mexico City. In 2007, Anthony starred in El Cantante, a biographical drama about the life of salsa music legend Héctor Lavoe, who died in 1993 from AIDS complications. More recently, Anthony guest-mentored on Season 2 of the hit talent competition The X Factor.
Besides his music and acting accomplishments, in 2012, Anthony launched the Maestro Cares Foundation, hosting a series of fundraisers throughout the year to benefit the non-profit organization and build orphanages in Latin America.
