Seventy-five years after founding his famous orchestra, the music of Glenn Miller is astonishingly alive and well. Relive a catalogue of Swing hits when you catch Glenn Miller Orchestra live at Tobin Center for the Performing Arts on Wednesday, February 6th!
The legendary Glenn Miller was the most successful of all the dance bandleaders back in the Swing era. The big-band trombonist, arranger, composer, and bandleader was the best-selling recording artist from 1939 to 1943 and scored 17 number-one records and 59 top ten hits—more than Elvis Presley (38 top 10s) and the Beatles (33 top 10s) did in their careers.
During this event, over 20 musicians and singers will bring back that unforgettable Glenn Miller sound and perform those songs that everyone remembers, including timeless big-band classics like “In the Mood,” “Moonlight Serenade,” “Chattanooga Choo Choo,” “Pennsylvania 6-5000,” “String of Pearls” and “Tuxedo Junction.”
This is a show not to miss for jazz and swing fans, or incurable romantics who want to step back in time. Tickets to witness Glenn Miller Orchestra live begin at 53 dollars and may be purchased online. For tickets and more information about this event, visit www.tobincenter.org.
