Rising soul artist Leon Bridges comes to New Braunfels in support of his sophomore album, Good Thing, on August 31st. Bridges will be joined by opening act, Masego.
Bridges is an American gospel and soul singer, songwriter and record producer from Fort Worth, Texas. He is best known for his breakout single "Coming Home," which was released in February 2015. The single received regular airplay and was listed as a Top 10 Most Viral Track on Spotify. Apple also featured the song in an iPhone 6 commercial. Just a few months later, Bridges landed the May 2015 cover of Fort Worth, Texas magazine.
Bridges' debut album, also titled Coming Home, was released on June 23, 2015, on Columbia Records. The artist’s debut album was met with critical acclaim and was nominated for Best R&B Album at the 58th Annual Grammy Awards. Though the artist did not take home the award, Bridges’ several accomplishments earned him a coveted spot as Saturday Night Live’s musical guest on the December 5th episode. Bridges’ latest album, Good Thing, was released during the spring of 2018.
Accompanying Bridges is Masego, a Jamaican-American musician with South African roots. Masego is an international, contemporary genre bending entertainer who refers to his own music style as "TrapHouseJazz" or Emotion. His collaborative record Tadow has amassed over 35 million views on YouTube. His record Navajo has been streamed over 20 million times, triggering a worldwide sold-out tour.
